Execute
Where the plan becomes action
From intention to action: structured data collection, continuous forecasting, evidence always ready. MESA makes operational execution more automated, traceable and timely, reducing manual work and making every activity measurable.
Overview
The EXECUTE process at a glance
EXECUTE is the third step in MESA’s operating cycle: the phase in which the controls defined in GOVERN become concrete operational activities.
Data collection is structured, forecasting is continuous, control tests are run on the platform and exceptions generate tracked remediation plans.
EXECUTE turns GOVERN’s active controls into structured evidence that DISCLOSE can use directly, reducing the risk of partial or unvalidated data at the reporting stage.
Key inputs
Active KRIs with configured alert thresholds and escalation, operational control system with testing schedules, owners and expected evidence, initiatives portfolio with approved budgets and KPIs, supplier ESG scoring and an active due diligence framework, climate targets and carbon accounting plans with defined methodologies.
Process outputs
Validated and reconciled data from ERP, HR and ESG platforms, control tests run and documented with structured evidence, plan/actual variances detected in real time, remediation plans with tracked owners and milestones, updated Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon accounting, due diligence data consolidated and ready for reporting.
Artificial Intelligence
How AI supports EXECUTE
AI and its agents make execution more continuous and less reliant on recurring manual activities. They support data collection, forecasting, validations, exception handling and escalation, improving operational timeliness and traceability.
Forecasting and variance detection
AI analyzes plan/actual variances, identifies deviation patterns and supports corrective actions before the impact takes hold.
Data collection and operational workflows
AI assigns responsibilities, monitors completion status, and manages validations and reminders to internal functions and suppliers.
Exceptions, remediation and templates
AI agents detect non-compliance patterns, pre-fill budget, scenario and disclosure templates and trigger automatic escalations on exceptions not closed within the expected timeframe.
Roles
The contribution of each function in EXECUTE
Operational execution involves all functions in structured and coordinated workflows, with cross-functional traceability and visibility in real time.
Finance
Manages continuous forecasting, plan/actual variances, initiative progress and the TCF with audit-ready evidence.
Sustainability
Coordinates ESG data collection, monitors progress and supports the completeness of the disclosure.
Risk
Monitors mitigation plans and updates the risk register based on validated operational data.
Compliance & Internal Audit
Runs control tests, stores the evidence and manages remediation plans.
Solutions
The solutions supporting EXECUTE
In EXECUTE, MESA supports data collection, operational monitoring and activity management with solutions that make execution more structured and traceable.
Integration
Distinctive features
The EXECUTE phase operates on top of existing systems without replacing them: it aggregates data where it is produced, validates it automatically and makes it available in a single operational environment.
Data collected at the source
MESA aggregates data in real time from ERP, HR, ESG platforms and reporting systems, with no migrations or duplications.
Configurable no-code workflows
Collection schedules, test templates, validation criteria and remediation plans can be configured by business functions.
Continuity across processes
What is collected, tested and documented in EXECUTE feeds directly into DISCLOSE, with no manual reconciliations between phases.
Operational scalability
In multi-entity contexts, MESA supports distributed collection and automatic consolidation, handling growing volumes of suppliers, controls and KPIs without increasing the operational workload.
